My name is Fernanda, mostly known as Fern, and I am very excited to be back to CollegeFashionista after a semester away! Last time around, I wrote weekly posts for LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS. It was a great experience (even though at times quite a challenge!) to study, research and share a little about men fashion here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Unfortunately, the weather here was SO hot and everyone was on vacation for most of the time I wrote, so I couldn’t share too much of the actual college fashion and ended up sharing more of the vacation fashion. However, this time around, we are all hard at work and just began a new semester, so expect the fashion to be all university-related.
My fashion hasn’t changed too much, but I’ve definitely grown a tad more sophisticated now that I’ve begun studying in the early morning, taking extra classes outside of campus and running around doing lots of errands (welcome to adult life!). I’m still a big fan of my Converse, but always opt for dressier boots, like these amazing ankle-booties, or flats when I have the chance. I also try to always leave the house as if I might run into a future boss—no laziness when getting dressed! I put on a pretty outfit, amazing yet cheap accessories (like this maxi necklace from Forever 21 that I cannot take off) and add a comfortable bag. My newest favorite is my backpack from Francesca’s Collections, which fits everything I need throughout these hectic days.
I’ve also been trying a few trends I never had the courage to wear, like high-low hems on both skirts and dresses, maxi necklaces and earrings and print scarves. So far, the adventures have definitely been worth it! The other great change in my look is my hair that has received even more bright pink dye in it, becoming an even greater accessory for any look I put together.
