STYLE GURU BIO: Fallon Goode

Hi Fashionistas! My name is Fallon Goode, and I could not be more excited about joining the Style Guru team! I am currently a sophomore at Penn State University, majoring in journalism with a minor in political science.

Style has always played an important role in my life. I was strolling the streets of Beverly Hills as a toddler, who was forced into wearing a uniform, when picking out my “perfect” outfit every morning in the fourth grade became too much to handle. Over the past seven years, I have created my “style board” on the doors of my closest to give me some inspiration for when I just can’t seem to get my outfit together. Now that I’m in college, I couldn’t be happier to try and pursue something in the field of fashion, a place I have always been able to find my creativity in.

One of the most important elements in style for me is how long it can last. I love to splurge, especially, sometimes unfortunately, on trendy pieces, but I always feel better spending more on pieces that are not fads. One of my staple pieces are a pair of Hunter riding boots. I got them in 2011 at Nordstrom Rack and have never seen anything like them since. They are the most comfortable boots, plus they’re pretty waterproof and sturdy like their rainboot counterparts. Another staple in my closet is my Rich and Skinny dark blue jeans. I have had them for four years and they have not lost any of their color or stretch.

I get some of my best, more trendy style influences from the city. Whether that be Los Angeles, New York or Miami. It depends on where I’m going and the time of year. Since it is winter, New York is my top influence since key pieces are always boots, jackets and hats. I recently went into the the city on an abnormally warm December day, so I knew I had to rock my new Free People jacket. I felt a little bit like a sheep, wandering through the streets, but I was warm and comfy. I threw on my white pom-pom hat from Anthropology to keep me warm from any gusts of wind and I was ready to go.

My other most important needs in the city are my over-sized tortoise sunglasses and my cross body from Free People, which I carried by it’s handles. The bag is amazing since it is small enough to carry all day, but still fits everything I jammed in it. I love pieces that will not only look cute, but will also be comfortable and helpful.

I can’t wait to share more of my style with you all!
