My name is Eve and I am currently an Economics and History major at Barnard College. Coming from a small New England town where everyone dresses the same, I relished going to school in New York City, where anything goes, and I can’t wait to share the eclectic and exciting style of this city’s students with all of you!
Growing up with two stylish older sisters, I’ve always had a love of clothes and fashion, and I’m pretty sure I’ve been to almost every mall in Massachusetts. Though I wish I could afford to buy exclusively from my favorite stores like Anthropologie, Kate Spade and J.Crew, my bank account begs to differ. Instead, I have accepted the challenge of finding timeless pieces that I love at an affordable price (my student ID discount really comes in handy with this part). I try and spice them up with original accessories. Another hobby of mine is taking runway trends and making them my own. For example, figuring out how to make the neon trend appropriate for everyday wear. I think that an indicator of a true Fashionista is not being afraid to push the envelope, but also honoring what you feel comfortable in and what looks good on your body. It’s okay to be both a little Marilyn and a little Jackie—mixing daring pieces with classic style.
My current style obsessions are anything with animals on it, such as this adorable fox sweater, Essie nail polish and Frye boots, which are a wardrobe staple for me. Look out for my WHAT TO WEAR column every Thursday!
