I’m Erinn Stewart and I’m from a small ski town just north of Toronto, Ontario. I am currently a student at McGill University in magnificent Montreal (hence the white, fluffy snow in my picture) where I study cultural studies, communications studies and marketing, with hopes of further breaking into the fashion industry upon my graduation.
My personal style is fairly simple. I tend to stick to neutral shades and colours, but I love to splash it up a bit with something colourful, patterned or bold. Living on a student budget has been one of the best things that has happened to my wardrobe, because it’s not only allowed me to get as creative as possible when piecing together an outfit, it has also made me understand the value of good fashion.
My interest in fashion began when I got a mini sewing machine from my grandmother when I was young. She taught me to sew, and within minutes, I had found a new love in my life. From that point on, I have been the costume designer for many of my high school productions, worked for an online magazine at school as a fashion columnist, assisted a local designer in my hometown and most recently I just completed a sales internship for a high-end men’s brand. I have truly grown to love all aspects of this dynamic industry, and I hope that this love and knowledge continues to grow as I begin my internship with College Fashionista! For CollegeFashionista this semester, I will be reporting on “WHAT TO WEAR” for various events by documenting some of McGill’s very own stylish students and explaining how you can achieve similar looks to theirs. Stay tuned!
