Hey, everyone! My name is Erika Harwood and I am a sophomore at the University of Michigan majoring in Screen Arts and Cultures and minoring in Art History. And yes, sometimes it is difficult knowing how in-demand I will be for jobs post-graduation. My ultimate goal is to work as a television writer or just work in TV in some way, shape or form. Really, I wouldn’t even mind being the person that gives Jimmy Fallon’s assistant his coffee. Yeah, not even Jimmy Fallon. His assistant. I just love TV that much.
I also love fashion which brings me to CollegeFashionista! This is my first semester as a Style Guru and I couldn’t be more excited to share the unique style the people have here in Ann Arbor. U of M brings in students from all over the world and the range of styles here is eclectic and inspiring.
As a student whose primary interests reside in the arts, or anything that doesn’t involve a calculator, fashion has always had an impact on me. I grew up and still reside in the Midwest, which as a lot of people know, is practically a gateway drug into reading fashion magazines and making feeble attempts at trying to become some kind of mid-western Alexa Chung. While I’m still far from being as cool as Alexa, my love for fashion is something that continues to grow, and I’m looking forward to exploring it more through CollegeFashionista.
I’ll be writing the What To Wear column this semester and I hope you enjoy looking though my posts. Maybe you will even find some inspiration from the stylish Wolverines roaming the streets of Ann Arbor!
