STYLE GURU BIO: Erika Borst

Hi everyone! My name is Erika Borst, I am a senior marketing major at Ramapo College of New Jersey, and this is my FIFTH semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. After taking a brief writing and social media hiatus, I’m thrilled to be back.

So, a little about me… First, I’m so excited to graduate (hopefully) this year. I took a gap year after finishing my freshman year to work and travel, and I cant wait to re-enter that lifestyle and begin a new season. That being said, I’d consider traveling my number one hobby. I love experiencing new cultures and all of the food, lifestyle, nature, and fashion associated with them. Second, I love photography and social media. Photography feeds my Instagram and Snapchat addictions and I couldn’t live any other way. Third, I love food. Brunch is the best time of day, and typically at the top of my to-do list every weekend.

In my opinion, one can never own enough black. My most common dilemma when getting dressed is when my blacks don’t match. That struggle is real. I’m currently living in my new and so essential black leather booties. I stand a few inches shy of six feet tall, so finding a cute yet shorter heel is quite necessary. Often paired with these booties are my black high waisted skinny jeans. Monochromatic for the win. With the revival of crop tops, I’d consider a staple pair of high waisted pants a must-must-have. I recently transferred back home to the frigid northeast after living in South Carolina for two years and quickly realized that my outerwear selection was seriously lacking. This grey wool coat from Vince caught my eye and although it isn’t black, I’m obsessed with its comfort and minimalist structure. I’ve been loving lipsticks this season and this matte liquid lipstick from Stila is heavenly. Trust me.

Interning for College Fashionista has encouraged a growth in my passions and I’m so thankful for this empowering atmosphere. Cheers to another semester as a Style Guru for my favorite company and community!
