STYLE GURU BIO: Erica Westley

Hello Fashionistas/os! Nice to meet you! My name is Erica Westley and I’m a junior at Ohio University studying Journalism and Film. In my spare time, I love reading all the fashion blogs and staying up to date with the latest trends.

Style is something that reflects the time in life that I am at and because of this, it is always ever-changing and evolving: In my middle school years I was all over the place. I was dedicated to bright neon colors and crazy psychedelic patterns. Entering my high school years, I found myself catering to a more preppy style, which seemed to be the “in” thing. Finally, as a third year undergraduate student, I feel I’m in a happy, committed relationship with my style. I would describe it as a balanced mix of grunge meets minimalist. With that being said, I never restrict myself to this and often love incorporating my current obsession statement pieces with my everyday outfits as well.

I believe your style is a part of your identity. When you stop trying to follow what others are doing and embrace your own personal style you get the best results. There is no wrong or right way to dress and by sharing your true personal style you’re sharing a piece of yourself with others! That’s why I’m looking forward to joining the CollegeFashionista team!

What’s my current obsession? Hats—from baseball caps to leather fabric hats. I enjoy incorporating them into my wardrobe. Lately my favorite tan suede hat has been my go-to accessory with my attire. Here, I’ve paired it with my favorite small, black purse and a denim jacket dress.
