“Fashions fade, style is eternal.” Hello all, my name is Erica Stokes and I am currently a junior at North Carolina A&T State University. This quote is one of my favorites simply because it briefly describes my style. What I feel on a daily basis comes through with the way I dress. Style comes from within yourself and how you feel. Most days I feel calm and happy, so I like to wear calm colors such as gray, white and nude.
My happy side brings out bright colors such as my pinks and my MAC “Ruby Woo” red lipstick, which is my favorite! I am so ecstatic to have this opportunity to become a Style Guru this summer. I’m ready to gain and experience more fashion tips from other Style Gurus, and make connections with people who are just like me. Fashion has always been a part of my life ever since my sophomore year in high school.
It all started when I took my first apparel class, I learned so much and my sewing skills also improved. My goal within the fashion industry is to own my very own clothing store, have a nail polish line, and to become a fashion celebrity stylist. These are all goals that I have set and I am confident enough that I will achieve them. There is one accessory that I absolutely need to have at all times, my “Ruby Woo” red lip stick of course!
One of my favorite colors is red, so it’s only natural to have my lipstick with me at all times; it goes with anything that I wear! So today I decided to keep it simple but chic with a marled rib knit shirt, ripped shorts, my black sandals and also my classic wool fedora hat. I’m so excited and cannot wait to share with you my outlook on fashion, and to hopefully inspire and also get inspired!
