STYLE GURU BIO: Emmy Miller

Hey fellow fashion lovers! I’m Emmy and I am super pumped to be a Style Guru this semester. I am from Kansas City but currently attend Oklahoma State University. I am a senior majoring in apparel merchandising. I love all things fashion just like all of you. Being able to express your personality through your style every day is something to take advantage of and embrace! Never be afraid to be creative and not conform to what is expected. I am here to help this semester by providing fun tips and tricks on how to step out of your comfort zone and expand your creativity in the world of fashion.

My biggest challenge in life is trying to wear something other than the color black. I love neutrals more than a Friday night without assignments due Monday. My style tends to be on the edgy side, but I also go for very classic and simple looks. I like things to be very organized not only in my life, but also in my style. I wear things that are very structured and use clean lines. My favorite trends right now are sleeveless turtlenecks, long cardigans, and a double-sided belt. My hobbies include shopping (duh!), discovering hole-in-the-wall coffee shops, staying up late-night-owl style, and freakishly organizing anything and everything.

Big cities hold my heart! Because of that, I often ask myself why I decided to go to Oklahoma State for college… It is far from a big city but the sweet and welcoming people won me over. Even though I lack many options in shopping, food, and coffee places to discover, I wouldn’t change a thing because of the amazing experiences and friends I have gained. After graduating, I will definitely be relocating to a metropolitan city where I can blossom into a full out Fashionista city girl. There I hope to have a career that involves using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. As much as I love all things fashion I am head over heels in love with using technology to design and express style for company advertising.

I hope you enjoyed getting to know a little about me! Be on the lookout for more posts throughout the semester!
