Hello Fashionistas! My name is Emma Wagner and I am a sophomore hoping to attend West Virginia University in the fall. I am studying fashion merchandising and this is my first time writing for CollegeFashionista. I am so excited to get inspired by the unique and fun styles we will discover together this summer. I will be writing to you most likely from the Starbucks near the University of Delaware. This is one of my favorite spots to get inspired by the many college students coming and going. Not to mention the free Wi-Fi and unlimited peach green tea lemonade refills. I am lucky to be living so close to a university. I know I will find inspiration almost anywhere I go.
My love for fashion really began when I started watching The Rachel Zoe Project. All of a sudden, I just knew that the world of fashion was a place I was destined to be a part of. Through watching the show and using my own clothes for inspiration I gained this instinct for styling clothing. I knew I was onto something when my friends would ask me advice what they should wear. Most of the time I can’t explain why I style an outfit the way that I do; it just makes sense in my head. I love styling because it creates a confidence boost. You all know exactly what I am talking about. Everyone has that one outfit that you know you look amazing in. For me clothing is not just a material item. It is a way that I express myself and my personal style
I like to say that my style is the “love child of J.Crew and Free People.” I am a boho girl that loves her preppy accessories. The majority of my closet is from Free People or Free People-inspired clothing. On the other hand I like to wear more preppy accessories. A staple piece in my wardrobe is my gold Kate Spade watch. I have also recently been loving Stella and Dot jewelry, especially their bracelets. I know this couldn’t be more cliché, but my Tory Burch Reva flats are also a staple in any preppy girls’ closet, especially mine.
