STYLE GURU BIO: Emma Bubenik

A big hello to the CollegeFashionista world! My name is Emma Bubenik, and I am a sophomore at Indiana University in Bloomington. I started out intending to double major in Neuroscience and Psychology, but quickly realized that my interests have always lied in fashion and retail. Thus, my current major is Apparel Merchandising with dual minors in Business and Fashion Design. Being a summer intern for CollegeFashionista, I will be capturing the vast array of styles in my hometown, Chicago, and I couldn’t be more thrilled!

Growing up I found myself spending more time in junior high drawing dress styles than paying attention in fifth grade social studies. I’ve always been a grammar freak as well, which is why this opportunity encompasses two of my passions. I’m extremely excited to push myself with this internship, and hopefully, open many more doors to my future!

My style has definitely changed throughout the years. Actually, thinking about it, I don’t think I really found my own true style until about two or three years ago. Right now, I am definitely adamant on “less is more.” My current closet consists of mostly basics and neutral colors that I love to switch up with accessories and small pops of color. Two staples of my wardrobe that have been consistent throughout my young adult life would definitely be Converse and a quality button-down flannel.

Again, I can’t wait to get started capturing all the great fashion trends I see on the streets of Chicago and hope that all of you Fashionistas/os enjoy the journey with me!
