Hi there, my name is Emily Laurich and I am very excited to begin this new journey as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am currently an Apparel Design student at the University of Minnesota. I started sewing when I was 11 and haven’t stopped since. I have always been intrigued by clothing and its ability to help people express themselves.
As for my personal style, I tend to be drawn to edgier pieces. To me, edgy means strong, tough and sometimes even intimidating. I enjoy walking the fine line between feminine and intimidating.
Aside from fashion, I am extremely inspired by music. I admire music’s ability to convey emotion so easily. I truly believe that emotion plays a stronger role in what we choose to wear than we give it credit for. Alongside my passion for music is my passion for photography; I spend most of my free time doing concert photography. Being able to combine my love for photography and fashion is what first sparked my interest in CollegeFashionista—and I have to say, I have come to realize CollegeFashionista is a great fit because it allows me to express myself as well as share my personal style.
