My name is Emily Griffith and I’m coming to you from the great state of West Virginia. I am currently a senior at the University of Charleston studying Communications with an emphasis on Public Relations. Although I did not go down the traditional road of most fashion mavens, I eventually found myself surrounded by the world of glossy covers on magazines and sky high stilettos when I opened my first issue of Teen Vogue. At that moment, I knew my style life would be changed forever. Now that I know a whole different world of fashion is out there for the taking, I plan on becoming part of it after I finish school. For now, I am here to help other stylish individuals break into a trend or define a new one!
Becoming part of CollegeFashionista is probably one of the more interesting internships I will have. This was not something I just happened upon, but a fellow Style Guru informed me of this opportunity through Teen Vogue’s Fashion University. Being quite the trendsetter at my school, I knew I had to apply! Keeping a close watch on what the other students on campus are wearing is definitely my specialty, so being able to inform others on student fashion should be a snap. In the meantime, it is essential for any Style Guru to see what others are wearing for inspiration.
I want to involve you fellow style mavericks on the trends that have yet to surface. I will be covering the LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS section from week to week. Fashion forward guys had better keep an eye out for what info I have to post, especially if you need a different perspective from the mountain state. Maybe you will find the perfect cardigan you have been coveting, a classic scarf to wear on the weekend or, even better, how about the “mutch” that everyone seems to keep talking about. Whatever the case, keep in mind that the clothes you wear are just an extra extension of who you are; might as well make the most of it!
