STYLE GURU BIO: Emily Collins

I’m Emily and a senior at Temple University studying communications with a focus on public relations. This is my fourth semester with CollegeFashionista and I am really looking forward to spending my last semester in college writing about the different fashion around campus!

Throughout these past semesters, I have had the chance to meet so many people on campus. Since Temple is such a large school, it’s impossible to know everyone on campus but with CollegeFashionista I was able to meet people who share the same interest in fashion. I love seeing how although there aren’t any fashion focused majors at Temple University there is still a large amount of people that follow fashion and the creativeness on campus is uncanny.

As I have said in the past, the main thing I appreciate when it comes to fashion is that there aren’t any set rules to how to dress, it is all how the person makes it their own and shows their individuality. This individuality doesn’t mean what kind of brands they are wearing or how expensive it is, but how they make a piece of clothing or an outfit represent the person wearing it.

My personal style changes consistently as seasons change, but I can confidently say there is always copious amounts of black clothing and accessories in my closet. This season, I have been a big fan of fur jackets and the way they completely change an outfit. They’re perfect for chilly lunch dates by adding a pair of ripped jeans with a solid top and booties. At night, by changing into a dress and throwing the fur jacket on, it is the perfect combo for a night out in the winter while looking fabulous as well.

I am so excited for this upcoming semester and writing about the amazing looks on campus. Temple has a lot to offer and it will be great to share with everyone! As the great Marc Jacobs once said, “Clothes mean nothing until someone lives in them.”
