STYLE GURU BIO: Emily Ciavatta

Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Emily Ciavatta and I’m a junior at Monmouth University in New Jersey where I study communication with a focus in PR and journalism. This is my third semester with CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru and my first as a member of the Social Media Society (and this summer I was lucky enough to work in the office as a marketing intern). I’m beyond excited to be back today for my third Style Guru Bio so I can continue showcasing my personal style and how it is ever-changing.

My summer in New York filled me with so much drive and inspiration that a day hasn’t gone by since where I don’t try something different with my outfit. I have a new found love for thrifting and layering T-shirts under slip dresses (as seen in this look), but my fashion go-tos change by the week as I continue to branch out and try new trends. Something that never changes about my style, however, is my love for a good pair of sneakers and the fact that I always have an iced coffee in hand. Coffee shops are pretty much my safe haven, and nothing makes me happier going to one with my laptop and being extra productive (I think blogging is just easier in an aesthetically-pleasing place).

I’m obsessed with pale pink, mom jeans and reading poetry, but there’s nothing I love more than Spotify (who knew a streaming service could steal my heart). I’m always inspired by the music I listen to, and I’m sure for the next few months that inspiration is going to come from Frank Ocean’s new album (I haven’t stopped listening to it since its release). Like my style, my music taste changes weekly, and I guess that’s why I have a slight addiction to buying concert tickets. Seriously, I went to Madison Square Garden five times this summer, and each time I rocked a unique look.

When I’m not in the city or listening to music to stimulate my creativity, I’m searching on Tumblr and Instagram for the coolest new trends. Not only are those my two favorite social media platforms, they’re the ones I find the best for new-wave content (a good Instagram aesthetic is another way to my heart). As a social media Intern for CF this semester, I’ll be able to combine my love for fashion and personal style with my love for the media and I couldn’t be more excited.

I hope you all learned a little bit more about me and are as excited to see more of my style this semester as I am to share it. Until next time, loves!
