STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth Zamudio

January 9th, 2015 at 2:00am

Happy New Year, Fashionista/os! The new year is upon us and I could not be more excited for another year full of possibilities! My name is Elizabeth Zamudio, but I mostly go by Liz. This is my third semester being a Style Guru at Illinois State University. As you may already know, I am majoring in Fashion Merchandising and minoring in Psychology. Just like any other twenty-something college girl, you can find me at the nearest mall or at the closest Target with an iced coffee in hand.

Donatella Versace once said, “Fashion is about dreaming and making other people dream.” That is exactly what CollegeFashionista is all about. Being a Style Guru has taken my passion for fashion to another level. I am constantly being inspired by other Style Gurus around the nation, students on Illinois State’s campus and of course, Amy and Melissa. It has truly been one of the best experiences in my college career. As a Style Guru, I am always surrounded by endless possibilities and my creativity always seems to be on.

My personal style has greatly evolved within the past year and I think any Style Guru could agree with me when I say that one’s style is a constant evolution—always changing and expressing how you feel. As for me, fashion has always been a hobby of mine. Even as a young child, I enjoyed dressing up and doing my hair. Not to mention, lip gloss was a must. Having two older brothers, my parents were not used to having such a little diva, but now they have their own stylist to call for fashion advice.

As for my readers, I am looking forward to bringing you the latest styles around campus. I hope for you to be inspired and ready to take on the world one outfit at a time. So be on the lookout every Friday to see the latest at Illinois State! Wondering what pieces I can’t stay away from this season? Check them out! I am in love with fur, booties and you can’t forget a lip color to make your day pop!
