STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth McBride

Hi friends! My name is Elizabeth McBride and this will be my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. This past summer, I had an absolute blast learning about an industry that I love so much and gaining as much knowledge as possible. I learned a lot during my first Style Guru internship but the most valuable piece of information that I learned is how accessible the fashion industry really is. By writing articles, researching different runway shows, reading every fashion magazine I could and attending different CollegeFashionista events, I realized that I could turn a passion that I have had since a girl and perhaps make a career out of it. Besides keeping up with my studies at Roger Williams University, I will be taking five classes through the Parsons School of Design and Teen Vogue in October. Saying I am excited is a huge understatement.

One of the reasons why I love fashion and beauty as much as I do is because it is a way I can express myself and tell my story. I am a big proponent of people wearing what makes them feel confident and beautiful. I enjoy sharing my stories and other people’s stories through writing and photography.

My fashion essentials alter every now and then because I am constantly changing my look. I am one of those people who likes to explore different trends while adding my own personal spin. Lately I have been into dresses with cutouts either on the side or back, leather sandals, statement jewelry and flannels. I have really enjoyed layering my clothes and I specifically like to do that with flannels. Flannels are a great staple because they come in different materials suitable for all seasons, are comfortable and look effortless. During the summer, I have been wearing my flannels around my waist and I love the look that it gives. I like clothing that can be used for multiple outfits and provide a relaxed yet put together look.

I am counting down the days until the new semester starts! Not only am I excited to share the awesome styles my campus has to offer but I am equally excited to read about all the incredible styles other colleges have. Feel free to join me on my Style Guru adventure and check out and my articles the fifteenth of every month!
