STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth Cooper

Hi! My name is Elizabeth and I am very excited to be a style guru for CollegeFashionista this semester! I am from a small town in New Jersey that is luckily a quick NJ Transit ride from New York City (my idea of a fashion heaven on earth). I spent a lot of time in the city growing up, following my dad who is a photographer based in Manhattan. Fashion has always surrounded me and I have learned to appreciate the art in every fashionista’s unique expression of style!

To be blunt, my personal style is just as random as I am. It truly depends on the day and my mood! I absolutely adore delicate, soft, feminine pieces. However, I also like a little bit of a statement. My favorite thing to do is pair my feminine pieces with a tough pair of shoes or a bold, dark lip. I really enjoy mixing the simple and the bold.

This look 100 percent represents my personality and my style. The vest represents my feminine, fun side. I got it on sale at Nordstrom Rack (seriously, the best place to get amazing deals). I am wearing Hudson jeans and also got them on sale at Nordstrom Rack. They are my absolute favorite jeans because they are so comfortable. My accessories definitely show I like to add a little bit of edge. The black leather fringe bag is Rebecca Minkoff.

My favorite part of my look is my shoes. They are vintage Gucci and I got them for FREE from a photographer’s style closet that was about to throw them out! I love the metallic and the steel heel. While they may not be the most comfortable, in my eyes, they are absolutely worth it.

Overall, my favorite thing about fashion is that you can mix and match so many different styles to form your own. One’s closet is truly an ever-changing art form.
