STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth Beckman

“People will stare. Make it worth their while.” This iconic line by Harry Winston speaks to me on a spiritual level because it is the quote that helped me assume my final form—about as extra as they come. When I say extra, I mean you can catch me rolling into my 8 a.m. class wearing the same slip dress that I wore to my sorority formal. Since college students find great value in comfort, they often question why I wear what I do to class. What they don’t understand is that I’m most comfortable in an outfit that makes me feel dope—whether that be in sneakers or mules.

Hello, world. My name is Biz. After a long winter break hiatus, I am incredibly excited to return to CollegeFashionista for a second semester. I’m currently a junior fashion merchandising major sourced out of Bradley University. Unfortunately for my wallet, I would describe my style as ever-changing. I’ll wear a certain trend to death one week and become sick of it the next. I often draw style inspiration from Raury and the Hudgens sisters—Vanessa and Stella. I swear, it must be something in their genes; shoutout to Mama Hudgens for blessing the world with those beautiful creatures.

This day, I decided on a classic look with a twist. I paired my white button-up with some leather pants to give the outfit more of an edgy feel. I accessorized with a fur vest and loafers that are reminiscent of the iconic Gucci slippers. I finished off the look with my big, furry coat because Illinois has absolutely no business being this cold.

I could not be more stoked to be writing for CollegeFashionista again! Cheers to a great semester.
