Hello everyone, I’m Elana Sandler! I go to Kent State University, where I am majoring in fashion merchandising with a minor in costume design. Ever since I can remember, I have been fascinated with fashion. When I was younger I was always interested in the clothing the characters were wearing and even rated some of my favorite movies by the main character’s outfits or styles.
Some of my favorite movies are; The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, 10 Things I Hate About You and Pretty Woman. The list goes on, but pretty much ‘80s and ‘90s movies. My personal fashion style draws inspiration from many of these movies. For example, take a look at my cross-body bag. It is soft and girly with an edgy touch, similar to Andie Walsh’s style in Pretty in Pink.
I usually like to keep my outfit simple, allowing accessories to do most of the talking. I almost always have at least one article of black clothing on like my basic black T-shirt. This way I have a nice contrast with any pop of color I may add. For summer, is there a better way to add a pop of color then some bright colored polish? One of my favorite things about the summer is wearing sandals because it shows a new realm of shapes and designs in your shoes!
