I’m Eileen Nardoza, a junior at Skidmore College, majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Business. I am thrilled to start my journey this spring semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am so excited to share the Fashionistas/os of Skidmore College with all of you fellow Fashionistas. Look for my posts every Wednesday under FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT. Skidmore is filled with students who have a great sense of personalized fun styles and recognize fashion as an artistic expression.
I was born and raised on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, New York. Growing up in an artistic community has greatly influenced my appreciation for individuality and creativity. As I have developed my style throughout the years, I have taken interest in classic fashion while keeping up with the seasonal trends. I have a confident and bold style. Colors and patterns are my all-time favorite, but lately I’ve been more appreciative of neutral tones and more experimental with lipstick colors! I would say that my style is extremely feminine. I absolutely love dresses, skirts, makeup and jewelry. I have been wearing heeled shoes pretty much everyday since I was 14! I have been featured on fashion blogs a few times; to further your insight on my personal style, you can check me out on New York Magazine’s The Cut at the Dover Street Market during this winter break as well as in this video of me wearing my mom’s vintage Shamask ensemble.
Fashion is an outward expression of inner emotions and personality. Originality is key. You may not care what others think about your personal style, but people are always looking. Your style is something you share with others and a well-put together, unique outfit will always be eye-catching and appreciated.
