My name is Diana, and I am a junior at Wellesley College studying mathematics and attempting to complete the daunting hurdle that comes with being premed, the MCAT. Fashion has always been an outlet for me. In times of endless procrastination I find myself scourging fashion blogs to keep up with the inspirational fashion world that never sleeps.
I am thrilled to be writing the FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT posts for Wellesley College this semester. As I discovered last semester, the student body at Wellesley exemplifies an eclectic collection of stylistic personalities. It is always interesting to hear the stories behind the outfits that Wellesley’s Fashionistas/os put together. One Fashionista told me how a friend gave her the Pashmina scarf from a Pakistani market. Some of my favorite outfits from this past semester include a dapper style tie and vest ensemble and a rocker-chic lace top that complemented this Fashionista’s bright pink hair.
Although Wellesley is not a fashion-focused school, it was exciting to see the student body come together when Scott Schuman, The Sartorialist, spoke on campus this past December. His international vision of fashion documented through street style photography will continue to be influential in the fashion world. By continuing to follow fashion bloggers, I hope to improve my own fashion photography and ability to document Wellesley’s unique fashion perspective. Being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista has really opened my eyes to the variety in attire worn on campus. Through my posts, I hope to inspire new wardrobe additions, self-expression and creativity in fashion.
