Ah, summer. That means shorter hemlines, longer days, warmer weather, cooler drinks, and of course, CollegeFashionista!
My name is Devan, but most people just call me Dev. I will be entering my senior year at Temple University as an advertising major. I will be spending my summer as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, but I will also be exploring my city, Philadelphia, and a few other cool places this summer and I can’t wait to take you all along with me!
As for my style, well I like to stick to the classics. I draw inspiration from fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn, focusing on elegance, simplicity, comfort and a little bit of menswear. However, in the summer, I do have to make some modifications in order to stay alive in the sweltering Northeastern heat. When I wear colors that tend to attract heat, like black, I try to avoid heavy, weighed down fabrics and reach for lighter more breathable ones instead. I like to wear easy pieces like rompers or dresses, so I don’t have to fuss with my outfit throughout the day. I also like to carry a light jacket or cardigan with me to stay warm in places that blast the AC and for those cool summer nights. And finally, I like to keep my toes out and wear sandals or wedges whenever possible so that the little guys can breathe and to show off my pedi!
So join me this summer as I begin my journey as a Style Guru and stick with me all of summer ’16.
