STYLE GURU BIO: Deja Vaughn

To all returning Fashionistas/os, welcome back, and to all new Fashionistas/os, welcome aboard! I’m Deja Vaughn, a senior Visual Communications major with a retailing minor, and I’ll be serving as your connection to all things stylish at University of South Carolina this semester.

Launching a personal style and lifestyle blog to reach out to others is what drove me to continue with CollegeFashionista. We all need to be reminded that we are loved and believed in, and some style advice never hurts. CollegeFashionista is a platform for those who are passionate about the latest college fashion, beauty, decor and lifestyle trends on campuses around the world, so getting another opportunity to continue this RAD internship was a must. I couldn’t resist.

My style is versatile; it changes day-to-day based on what inspires me in that moment. I can be the girly girl, the tomboy, the punk rock chick or the effortless boho/hippie. I get my inspiration from Pinterest, Tumblr, celebrities and style icons. Fashion is forever evolving, and being set on one style is never fun. Switching things up gives you a chance to explore more options.

Expressing myself through my style has helped me define more of who I am as a person. It is a way to show who I am without compromising anything. To me, it is important to look good no matter the occasion, staying true to yourself of course.

Currently, my life feels as if it’s on full speed ahead and before I know it I am going to be in some place called the “real world.” I don’t know much about it, but what I do is “when you look good, you feel good” and feeling good can often make you more productive. I hope you enjoy reading my posts as much as I enjoy creating them and have a wonderful, chic semester, Fashionistas/os!

Here’s to living free and fearlessly.
