STYLE GURU BIO: Danielle Szatkowski

My name is Danielle and I am continuing my summer internship with CollegeFashionista for the fall semester. I am 21 years old and a senior at Oakland University. Understanding and being inspired by the fashion industry has always been second nature to me. I am easily inspired by the world, especially through art, culture and passionate works. Fashion trends, designs, runways and makeup have always been intriguing to me and an important aspect of my life. I’ve been reading and skeptically looking into fashion since I was very young, always inspired by upcoming trends and transforming designers. I enjoy reading fashion magazines, blogging both fashion and fitness (follow my Tumblr blogs), creating mood boards and doing makeup.

My fashion inspirations include Alexander Wang, the Olsen twins, Lou Teasdale, Ashley Williams and Emma Roberts. My fashion sense is relatable to a rocker-chick style with a love for vintage clothing that’s mixed with high end labels. My outfits usually reflect a look that pulls off as effortless, yet dramatic. High fashion and overall creativity has always been a niche of mine. I’ve been into portrait and fashion photography for years, and have had work published worldwide, most recently on the billboards of New York City.

I believe that any dream is achievable as long as you believe in yourself. Intuitively, I feel that fashion has composition in my blood and is something I was born to work with. I enjoy the lifestyle of working creatively, hard and chasing the inevitable. I am excited to be a part of this team so that I can be inspired by other Style Gurus. After I graduate from Oakland, I hope to transfer to a fashion school in New York City or Chicago and begin interning with a designer or editor in the field.
