STYLE GURU BIO: Danielle Germane

Hello fellow Earthlings. The name’s Danielle Germane. I’m almost twenty, a sophomore at Central Michigan University studying Fashion Merchandising and Design and Leadership, a gypsy for Jesus and a complete nut for nature.

My sewing/design career began as a local 4-H Club member and has grown ever since. Fun fact: I participated in a runway repurposed fashion show where my love for recycled art/fashion majorly tugged at heartstrings.

A majority of the outfit I’m wearing is from a little boutique I like to call Paige’s Closet. You’ve probably never heard of it before because these beauties were from my grand ol’ pal Paige, who no longer wanted them anymore so she gave them to me!

I encourage others to do the same with their friends. Fashion is fun, but it’s even better when friends are involved! Recycle clothes amongst your friends—it’s an awesome way to keep your suitcases light and your wardrobes fresh.

To me, words are a form of art expression. Lines that can sometimes appear random can also be strung together to form letters. Smash them together to form words, bundle them in strategic groups and orders to form sentences and somehow your brain seems to comprehend it all. That’s a new perspective to the art of writing and that’s exactly what I like to do: challenge traditional ways of thinking with different viewpoints of appreciation.

That’s precisely what fashion lets me do too! It allows me to challenge the traditional ways of today in various contexts. My favorite places to shop are what I like to call “my little boutiques:” The Salvation Army and Goodwill.

This journey as a Style Guru is undoubtedly an exciting one. Even more exciting is that I’m not in this alone and we get to share this experience together. Here’s to our many writes and reads over countless hot cups of coffee and possibly an occasional tissue.
