STYLE GURU BIO: Danielle Fernandes

Ever since I was a little girl, fashion has been an important element of my life. My first taste of fashion was in the form of Nordstrom shopping trips with my mom and grandma. If I wasn’t dressing Barbies, I was dressing up myself. My style has always been classy, feminine and chic. Dressing up today excites me just as much as it did years ago.

I’ve wanted to study fashion for as long as I can remember. During high school, I was a member of the Nordstrom Fashion Board in Sacramento and I took pre-college fashion courses at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The fall after high school graduation, I was accepted to attend the Teen Vogue Fashion University in New York. Since living in Los Angeles, one of my most memorable experiences has been dressing models for a Roberto Cavalli fashion show. These valuable experiences have certainly helped to shape me into the woman I am today.

Aside from fashion, I enjoy: yoga, cooking, interior decorating and traveling. Most importantly, I love spending time with family and friends. Moving to Los Angeles to attend Woodbury University is one of the best decisions that I have ever made. My energy and ambition is amplified. I am delighted to live in such a diverse city where anything goes and to be working towards a career in an industry where creativity is endless. I love waking up every day wondering what I’ll experience next. I love to explore the city and discover everything it has to offer. I am always up for an adventure!

Although I may not have a specific dream career, my interests include: journalism, advertising, event production and public relations. I am ecstatic to begin my first semester as a Woodbury University Style Guru. I look forward to expanding my social circle around campus, improving my journalism skills and learning more about how my peers express their personalities through fashion. Los Angeles has such an eclectic fashion atmosphere. By focusing more on the fashion around me, I wouldn’t be surprised to see my own personal style transform through the semester.

This look is the perfect glimpse into my style. I love dresses, especially fun, flouncy ones. My closet mainly consists of neutral colors, allowing me to top off my look with details. If you were to take a peek into my wardrobe, you would find leather, lace, studs and lots of sparkles. I incorporate a bow into almost every outfit in the form of an accessory. Heels are another one of my favorite accessories. These particular heels are one of my favorites because they feature a gold, metal-plated heel. When making purchases, I am picky about detail and quality. A shiny metal heel definitely captures my attention.

Did I capture your attention? Be sure to check back every Tuesday for weekly Woodbury style inspiration. I look forward to a great semester and sharing with you my love of all things fashion!
