Hello, lovely people! My name is Courtney Mercado and I’m a rising junior at the University of Southern California. I am currently studying Chemical Engineering and hope to create cosmetics in the future.
My style is very all over the place. I guess you could say that I don’t have a specific style, but my clothes are all very distinct. My closet ranges from preppy, to girly, to edgy, to bold to casual. What characterizes my clothing, however, is that each piece is very unique, whether it’s the pattern or the color or the overall pairing of the outfit. My style is greatly influenced by my mood and my surroundings.
I am a dreamer and an adventurer. You would probably never see me stagnant as I am always doing something, whether it’s exploring 24 hour cafes, perusing through used book stores or scrambling to keep up with my engineering classes. To me, the satisfaction of learning something new or the excitement of finding some hole in the wall shop is an experience exponentially greater than binge-watching a TV show on Netflix (but I’ll admit, I still do that sometimes).
This summer, I will not only be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, but also a research and technology summer intern at PPG Aerospace. In my little bouts of free time, you could probably find me reading a new book; shopping at some of my favorite stores like Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters or Free People; or updating my blog, A Courter For Your Thoughts.
In the next three months, I hope to be able to explore the beautiful city of Los Angeles, go hiking, lay on the beach, spot Fashionistas/Fashionistos, and make great memories.
