Hello! My name is Colette Smith, and I am a sophomore at Washington State University studying apparel design. I am so excited to be working with CollegeFashionista for my first time ever!
I love fashion and coming up with some awesome outfits. My style is decided by the mood I wake up in, as I will wear anything or any style! I tend to pick items that are more edgy than simple—we all should do this so we can stand out. I wear what I love and I love what I wear.
For this look, I was wearing my favorite retro boots from Boohoo that reminded me of the ’60s. They really do go with anything. I paired them with some boyfriend jeans I had from Urban Outfitters that I had cut myself to give them a raw hem and large knee holes. Ripped jeans are obviously very popular right now, so the larger or more different the rips are from the usual, the cooler your jeans will look! Raw hems have also been popular for some time and are a nice, subtle style trick to make your outfit just one step better—they’re also something you can do yourself to any of your jeans.
My favorite item I am wearing is my sequin bodysuit from Urban Outfitters. I love any type of bodysuit, but the brighter the better. This bodysuit is perfect for a party or even every day when paired with a sheer top or any deep v-neck T-shirt. The last part of my outfit was my star choker. I have seen star chokers everywhere as it is very seasonal but also very cute! Chokers are worn by everybody and everyone; adding some shapes and charms to your chokers makes your style pop.
