STYLE GURU BIO: Claudia Meyer-Samargia

Hello there! My name is Claudia Meyer-Samargia, and this is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I am a freshman here at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, coming from St. Paul, Minnesota. I am overjoyed to be a Style Guru for the spring semester and to have the opportunity to learn so much more about fashion, express my own personal style and to meet many amazing people along the way!

For as long as I can remember, I have always dreamt of working in the fashion industry. Currently, I am deciding between majoring in either marketing or journalism, and I have the hopes of doing so for a fashion magazine. Ideally, I want to move to New York City post-Madison to pursue my career in the fashion industry. A girl can dream right? However, for now, I am loving everything that Madison and freshman year have to offer me!

With regards to my personal style, I am hard to keep up with. I alternate on a daily basis between airy, feminine and bohemian, or edgy and trendy, with a bit of grunge. My appreciation of many different styles will be very enjoyable to track over the next semester in my pursuits of the current trends and my own personal twist. The outfit I am pictured in here utilizes my signature pair of distressed black jeans, with a western-inspired twist. Lace-up tops are very popular right now, especially in this beautiful mustard color, for the fall and winter. I added a lace, halter bralette since the top has a low plunge, and I didn’t want a bra to be showing. This Western-tipped belt adds to the overall tone of the look. It is finished off with my very favorite black suede Chelsea boots. No matter what I am wearing, it is likely that I will be found in these booties!

This semester, I cannot wait to have a platform to express my own personal style and share it with all of you! Also, I will be roaming campus in the search of the hidden Fashionistas that need to be shared with the world. Cheers to a great spring semester and the many memories to come. Check in often to learn about the trends on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus!
