STYLE GURU BIO: Clara Bradford

As you hear most other Style Gurus state, I too have been a Fashionista from the very beginning. When I was in first grade, I remember making the decision that I would be a fashion designer when asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. Oh, and we can’t forget the days when I would play dress-up, turn on music, turn off all the lights and make my mom shine a flashlight on me as I walked down the runway of my own fashion show. Here we are almost two decades later, and my love of style and clothing hasn’t really changed. I like to think I have just evolved into a more grown-up and refined version of my young self. I am currently in my fourth, and final, year at Purdue University majoring in Retail Management with a minor in Art & Design, and I am working hard to pursue my future career in fashion.

When you go to a school that is known for being an engineering school, you wouldn’t think of the words “style” or “fashion.” Everyday I am surprised to find incredible fashion walking among our campus, and I can’t wait to display it to you. I’ll prove to you that there is more to Indiana than just corn. I feel that I have gotten caught up in the whirlwind of the past three-and-a-half years and haven’t been on my game of documenting fashion on campus as much as I would like to have been. My personal fashion and lifestyle blog has always been my go-to outlet of expressing my style advice. This is one of the many reasons I am so grateful to be given the opportunity to be interning for CollegeFashionista this spring semester. I know I will be even more inspired to deliver the awesome style at my school. I am also so ecstatic to meet other Style Gurus, grow professionally in the midst of a fashion community and share style advice.

My wardrobe varies just like my inspirational outlets, from edgy punk to classic vintage chic. My style inspiration is constantly stemming from my surroundings, runway looks, fashion magazines and various other outlets. Many of these are online, and CollegeFashionista has always been a favorite. This is another reason I can’t wait to contribute through my internship—so I can share the amazing outfit inspiration that I know we all seek on the daily. I am so excited to see and present to you my fashion findings this semester!
