My name is Claire File and I will be starting my final year at Purdue University this fall where I am majoring in retail management with a minor in communications. Having been a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista the past two semesters, I am thrilled to be back again and have the opportunity to spend this summer writing about and photographing the personal style of the Fashionista/Fashionistos by which I am inspired. I will be covering the WHAT TO WEAR column and can’t wait to get started.
I’ve been referred to as a dreamy idealist and have always been drawn to all things artistic. Be it music, photography, poetry, painting and all things in between, it is creativity that inspires me the most. I love to laugh and tend to find joy in the little things in life. I consider myself an adventurous soul, always searching for something to make my heart skip a beat. Ever since I can remember I’ve had a passion for fashion. To me, fashion is a form of wearable art. I think there’s something so awe inspiring about different clothes and the way they can transform someone. My dream in life is to travel the world and immerse myself in the cultures, and of course the fashion, of all the different countries.
Summer is by far my favorite season to dress for. I love the lightweight and dreamy ensembles and the festival fashions that the warm months of summer inspire. I like to think that my personal style reflects my free-spirited nature. Loose, flowing tops and dresses that easily catch the breeze while I’m dancing are just a few of my wardrobe staples. I’m all about mixing different patterns and prints and piling on jewelry with a handmade, natural touch. While you’ll find moccasins or intricate sandals on my feet in the summer, the truth is I’d rather be barefoot.
I’ve always been drawn to writing as a creative outlet, but discovered my love of writing about style when I joined CollegeFashionista. I hope to one day take my passion for both and write for a fashion magazine or website. Be sure to check out my articles every Thursday as I give you tips on what to wear to all of your different campus activities!
