STYLE GURU BIO: Christy Ha

Hey there! Let me introduce myself, my name is Christy and I’m humbly here to be your Style Guru. I am very happy to announce my return to CollegeFashionista this summer, so whether you have read my posts in the past or you are just joining in, welcome!

For those of you who don’t know who I am, I am a communication studies major at the University of California, Los Angeles who happens to be absolutely in love with fashion. Born in Hong Kong, raised in New York and somehow found myself in Los Angeles, I think it was inevitable that I became involved with arts and culture.

If you are thinking what art and culture have to do with fashion? My answer is everything.

Fashion, from styling your personal wardrobe and creating a masterpiece outfit to designers sketching up the next seasonal trends to establishing stylistic eras, is every bit as artistic as painting and sculpting. Like any other artist, Style Gurus each have their personal influences and approaches towards fashion. My style is influenced by the people around me, the trends I notice on the streets and in the fashion industry, my mood or even the weather. On any given day, my outfit can vary widely from morning to night depending on my experiences that day. I am very excited to show you all my style, but more importantly, what I see around L.A. and on campus that helps me develop my style.

Although I am not graduating yet, my look today is definitely an ode to all seniors out there taking graduation photos. I am wearing a white lace dressed with matching white wedged sandals. For a simple outfit like this one, don’t be afraid to use a more unique piece of accessory like I have with the belt! A signature piece will make your outfit stand out and draw people’s eyes towards you because of the contrast. Finishing off the outfit, I added a couple of rings and a love bangle for that girly, elegant look.

If you like what you see, stay on the lookout for more posts. We will have a #RAD summer together!
