STYLE GURU BIO: Christina Dun

Style Guru Bio

Hey everyone, Christina here! I am so excited to be returning as a Style Guru for Ryerson University, and to be able to continue sharing our campus style with you all around the world. I’m a third-year journalism student who is rarely spotted without a Starbucks cup in hand and who is constantly tweeting her life out to world (be sure to follow my crazy adventures in the world of fashion and entertainment at @christinaaa28). This semester marks my one-year anniversary writing for CollegeFashionista and it has been such an amazing experience.  I’ve loved getting to see into so many other campuses and getting to stay up-to-date on the different trends.

Along with a brand new year comes many more months full of fashion and I can’t wait to see what’s in store.  I have an addiction to shoes, thrift store shopping and costume jewelry. I also have a new-found love for red lipstick – M·A·C’s matte Viva Glam I to be exact. I believe that a great blazer can go a long way with any outfit and that being comfortable never goes out of style. However, the key to rocking the perfect outfit is always confidence.

I admire the styles of the people I’m surrounded by, whether that’s on the streets or on the many fashion blogs that I have become obsessed with. I am constantly scrolling through Lookbook.nu, admiring all the different outfits and stylish creativity in the photos. It’s definitely a great place to look for fashion inspiration, but I also turn to my favourite celebrities. I would love to raid the closets of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Olivia Palermo or Rachel Bilson. There are so many amazing people in the industry, but I especially admire Betsey Johnson’s fun and creative approach to fashion. I got to hear her speak live at the 2011 Teen Vogue Fashion University in New York City, which was an absolute dream.

I’m looking forward to this semester because it’ll be featuring the transition from winter to spring – I know there are tons of students anxious to shed those heavy winter coats. I can’t wait to get out on campus and find more stylish students to showcase. You can catch my FASHIONISTA SPOTLIGHT posts every Wednesday!
