My name is Cheyanne Cope, and I am currently in my senior year at California State University – Northridge, majoring in Political Science. Though Los Angeles has been my home base for the past two and a half years, this summer I will be trekking both the East and West Coasts as I cover the ALL IN THE DETAILS segment. Something tells me we’re in for some great, bi-coastal summer fashion moments.
I wasn’t born a Fashionista. As a kid, I was way more interested in sports and dirt than accessories and Vogue. However, slowly and surely, the style bug bit me and as we all know, once that happens there is no turning back. While all the kids in school were buying the same Abercrombie & Fitch, Hollister Co. and American Eagle Outfitters polos (don’t act like you don’t remember this epidemic), my mother encouraged me to shop outside the trends. This encouragement became the cornerstone of my fashion journey; leading me towards the authentic and timeless looks I love today.
I love fashion that exudes strength, class and self-respect. I am inspired by the ageless style of Jackie Kennedy Onassis; the pearls, the high-neck silhouettes and the trousers. Nothing beats mixing masculine and feminine pieces. As a woman, I want to be taken seriously and these looks always seem to do the trick.
I have a small obsession with blazers and I never feel my outfit is complete without one. Flats are also my weakness and I will literally wear them out until they’re past the point of no return. I love traveling, music and fashion and just exploring life in general. I’m looking forward to all the amazing fashion this summer brings.
