STYLE GURU BIO: Chelsea Barcenas

Hi, friends! My name is Chelsea Barcenas and it is a pleasure to meet you! I’m originally from Southern California, but am now in Waco, Texas as a transfer student at Baylor University. My major is economics, and although this is my first year at Baylor, this is actually my third year in college. There have been many firsts this year, but the most exciting is that this is my first semester as a Style Guru! I am not majoring in anything fashion related, but I have always had an undying love for everything fashion. I went to a private school where a uniform was required and the restriction of not being able to choose what to wear on the daily made my love for it flourish.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I am an avid sports watcher, art lover, and family time enthusiast. When I’m back in California, you can easily find me at Disneyland. But since Disneyland is not exactly in proximity when I’m at school, you can find me playing golf or taking photos and sharing them on my blog. Both golf and photography are something that I have always loved and my blog is a new found love of mine, it quickly became my online diary. But getting to share and write about it fills my heart with joy.

As for my personal style, I don’t like to restrict myself to one specific style. I try to explore all the different movements and current trends, but it is important for me to stay true to myself and express myself through the clothes I wear.

For this look, I paired this black ruffled neck line long sleeve sweater with a brown corduroy skirt and some tall chunky boots with chain detailing. I decided to keep it simple and easy to wear around campus, but gave the outfit an extra flair with the heeled boots and differences of textures.

The level of my excitement for being a part of this is through the roof and I can’t wait what this semester has in store!
