My name is Chantelle Fandino, and I am currently a junior at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, Georgia. I am a Fashion Marketing and Management major, with a minor in Fashion Design. Words cannot describe how excited I am to be interning for CollegeFashionista this summer. There is nothing I love more than seeking out the stylishly dressed and, of course, putting my fashion writing skills to the test.
I was born in in London, England, home of Harry Potter and the good ole Queen Mum. I am Spanish, Italian and British by birth (quite the mix, eh?). I love my lovely family to pieces, and my vicious basset hound pup, named Penny. My love for fashion has been pretty hardcore since I was in middle school. Living in other countries has really inspired my style and design aesthetic, and I am always captivated by the fashions of others from all over the world. Living abroad has also shown me that expression through fashion is something beautiful, completely unique, different and should be embraced by everyone. With that being said, I enjoy mixing styles together and taking bits of inspirations from the places I have lived with me.
I am constantly inspired, and I feel like my style is always evolving. I love reading magazines, reading up on the latest trends, watching fashion shows and people watching. I am never NOT inspired. Lately, I have been really drawn to elements of architecture and neon, accent pieces. I would say my style is centered on a clean, urban edge. I like clean-cut silhouettes with a modern flare. I am a sucker for oxfords and lace-up booties, along with my favorite gold Michael Kors watch, which you will see me wearing quite often. I adore the color black and Coco Chanel.
I am so blessed to be pursuing a career that I am so very passionate about. It’s not everyday that you can really say you love what you are doing. I am looking forward to the great opportunity I have been given as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista. I will be writing for the WHAT TO WEAR section and am very anxious to introduce my readers to all the great people I’ll be meeting at SCAD and all around Atlanta this summer!
