STYLE GURU BIO: Catherine Brackett

Hello all! My name is Catherine Brackett and I’m a Textiles Communications major at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln! This is my second semester interning with CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be back! I love everything fashion oriented as well as have a passion for writing.

As the school year quickly approaches, summer fades away. Although I’m glad to welcome back the hustle and bustle of campus life, I definitely have a case of summertime sadness. But school gives me an excuse to dress up everyday! You have to dress to impress, right? As far as my personal style goes, I’m still trying to figure it out myself. Some days, I’m really feeling the boho vibes. Others, I like to keep it prim and proper. I guess that’s what college is for—figuring out your personal style!

One store I’m consistently enthralled with is Anthropologie. I always love to draw inspiration from their blog and look books. I love their combination of country-chic and elegance—it’s a good balance. Not to mention all of their home goods! Lets not get into that right now, though.

Here, I’m actually wearing a skirt over a romper. I loved the pattern of the romper, but I was feeling the put togetherness of the asymmetric skirt, so why not pair them together! To keep the look on the casual side, I went with my favorite wedges by Steve Madden. These puppies are so comfy and go well with any summertime ensemble. I kept my accessories to a minimum because of the floral print. Although you could add more or less for more simplicity.
