STYLE GURU BIO: Catalina Muñoz

Hola everyone! My name is Catalina Muñoz, and I am from Chile. I am a journalism student, and I couldn’t be more excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista.

I have always had a big interest in fashion. Many people see fashion as a form of art. I don’t know if I agree with that, but I do know that fashion lets us play different roles and be creative, and I enjoy that a lot.

Fashion magazines were a big part of my everyday life when I was growing up. As an active reader, besides the book I was currently reading, there was always a magazine waiting for me. I often put the book aside and read the magazine instead. It was hard ignoring them.

One of the coolest days of my life was the day I was able to visit the Teen Vogue office in New York. Meeting the editors, seeing how they worked and surrounding myself with all of that crazy energy gave me the push I needed to decide to study journalism.

It is always hard for me when it comes to describing my style. It depends on how I am feeling that day. Sometimes I enjoy spending more time than usual while making myself ready for the day. On other days, I could just put on the first thing I see in my closet.

Only on rare occasions could I be seen in a T-shirt. Most of the time, I am wearing a blouse. They have become kind of a trademark of myself. Shirts can also be seen in my closet. I love to wear them in monochromatic outfits.

I am not a big fan of high heels, or any heel to be honest. Flats, on the other hand, are my favorite kind of shoe. Comfort is a priority for me when it comes to dressing up. In the winter, I wear a knee-high boot.

I also love blazers. Even though I prefer a leather jacket while attending school, I think that a nice blazer can make a normal outfit a little bit more put together.

You can’t imagine how excited I am to show you how students here in Chile dress. I hope you enjoy seeing different styles from across the world. Don’t forget to follow me on social media. Here’s to a rad semester to come.
