STYLE GURU BIO: Cassidy Regan

Hi Fashionistas/os! My name is Cassidy Regan. I am currently going to be a sophomore this coming fall at Middlesex County Community College majoring in Liberal Arts General. This is my first semester at CollegeFashionista and I’m so excited to be a part of the family! Get ready for the journey of fashion at MCC.

Coming into Middlesex County Community College, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do. All of my life I’ve always had a passion for photography. I pushed it aside because I always thought of it as too difficult, but isn’t that true of everything in life? We strive for the things we love the most! But cameras aren’t the only love in my life.

Pictures I have show that as a baby my mother always dressed me up as a little fashionista. These outfits included Winnie the Pooh vests or dresses covered in strawberries. As I grew up, I was formatted to my very own wardrobe. This is where my love for fashion began to increase. Mid-high school, I feel my style shifted. It went from being thrown together to actually matching and finally looking polished and approachable.

My style is very simple and laid back with a pop. I like to take risks, but I also wear T-shirts (example: Drake shirt) and leggings like any normal Fashionista/o would wear. Sometimes, I also like to wear all black. That’s not a bad thing..right? Dressing up my outfits with certain shoes or statement necklaces are my thing. For instance, my strapped boot sandals I had gotten from Forever 21 were a life saver -pretty much one of my go-to pieces in any outfit I wear. With a chunky platform-like heel, it makes for a major fashion throwback. Of course, Forever 21 no longer sells the same exact pair, so I feel these shoes are similar. The most important necklace I wear with almost every outfit is my grandmothers’ necklace. Before she died, she had given me an opal Portuguese gold necklace that I wore in these pictures in honor of her. A similar necklace without the opal can be found here.

In my free time, I usually spend days scouting stylish Fashionista/os, living vicariously through the life of the famous character known as Blair Waldorf and even trying to find my own Chuck Bass. To describe my love for photography and fashion would be infinite. Both are an art form that you can make your own no matter how many people judge you or try to bring you down. Every day I strive to be a better version of myself. I am so glad to be on this ride through CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru to not only observe other Fashionista/os sense of style but to see mine advance and transform as well.
