STYLE GURU BIO: Casmira Damon

Hello, my name is Casmira and this is my second semester as a Style Guru. I’m excited to be a Guru while I head into my senior year at Savannah College of Art and Design and begin designing my senior fashion collection. I look forward to scouting Fashionistas in a city filled with crazy, creative art students.

My personal style can be described as vintage with a dash of sass. I love vintage fashion, and the history that goes with it, along with kitschy, silly accessories to make things a little more fun. I’m a big fan of going to thrift stores, and a large amount of my wardrobe is thrifted or second hand. I love thrifting because it helps the environment, my wallet and helps me constantly evolve my style.

The outfit I’m wearing in this post is a mix of thrifted and new. The star of the outfit is this ’50s style floral sundress I found at a second hand shop in Savannah. To draw attention to my waist, I used a simple, skinny black belt. Everyone knows accessories make the outfit, so I accessorized the dress with some colorful earrings and simple gold jewelry. I love to add a bit of whimsy to my outfits, so I decided to carry my essentials in a little black cat bag. To ground my outfit, I wore a pair of simple, black sandals with a low heel for all day wear.

I look forward to heading back to SCAD and bringing all the CollegeFashionista readers along to glimpse the creativity that thrives in Savannah.
