STYLE GURU BIO: Caroline Dilone

This fall marks my third semester with CollegeFashionista. Wow. Now, I am a sophomore at The New School in New York City. It’s amazing how quickly time flies. Well, since this is my third bio, I hope this one is better than the last two I have written. Let’s see, how shall I begin this one? I should probably start it with a witty quote but it’s probably best to leave that till the end, so I hope you all keep reading because this quote will be something to look forward to.

I’ve always loved fashion. I would watch Lizzie McGuire and Phil of the Future and I would dress as if I’m playing the characters. Let’s not forget Get a Clue with Lindsay Lohan. That was a big fashion inspiration for the six-year-old me. It’s fashion undercover, who wouldn’t be into that? However as I started growing older, my style developed and the shows I have begun to watch changed into Gossip Girl and Sex and the City. My love for fashion came through different forms of art, TV shows/movies, music and books. For this bio, I chose to be a little casual but classic with a pair of black jeans, a white shirt, a denim jacket and my fedora.  I am currently experimenting with fashion and the different fields of it. From going out and taking photos of fashionable street walkers out here in New York City, CollegeFashionista has taught me many things about fashion. Most importantly, it has taught me how to write about it. It is helping me discover my voice.

Summer vacation has come and gone and as I think about the start of the new school year, I begin to remember how the last semester ended. The faster I feel time goes by, I remember this quote by Alvin Levin in Love is like Park Avenue, “You sit here now on the hard chair and think about these things; and you don’t know whether you are happy or sad. And you wonder if you’ll ever think some day about now, and if then everything happening now will be nice to think about.” I am sad that summer has gone but I am also excited to see what fall has in store for this semester. I hope at the end of this season, I smile and think about this moment. I can’t wait to see the outfits you fabulous Fashionstas/os have ready for this fall. Be sure to catch, here on my page, the latest trends every month.
