My name is Carolina Cornejo and I’m a senior majoring in Journalism and minoring in International Studies and Creative Writing. I’m so excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this spring. I was born in Barcelona, but I’ve lived all over the world. I am currently living in Panama.
It’s safe to say a fashion magazine is a staple for my trips. I try to vary what magazine I bring with me; I love to pass through the pages of Vogue and Marie Claire to obsess over the high fashion of backstages and runways, but I also check out Lucky and Style magazine for creative outfit ideas. But as much as I love magazines, I’ve been getting used to looking for fashion inspiration online. I follow many fashion blogs. My favorites include Song of Style, Tuula, the Blonde Salad and Fashiontoast.
Personally, I’m a big fan of sequins, tribal prints and neon, but I usually save those for my accessories. My style is all about balance. I try to keep my outfits simple and clean-cut (usually in neutrals), so I can add a little pop of color. My style changes depending on my mood and the season. Style for me is something that encompasses everything, not just clothes. I’ve seen my style evolve after living in a different country for a couple of years. I think when it comes to style it’s the new experiences, the day-to-day life and the new aspirations that shape the clothes and how you wear them. I am incredibly excited to work with CollegeFashionista and report to you about the fashion finds on this diverse campus!
