Hi, my name is Carly Ciccotti and I’m currently a freshman at The George Washington University. This spring will be my first time writing for CollegeFashionista and I’m so excited to be a part of the team! Going to an urban school immersed in the nation’s capital everyday brings a variety of people and styles through our campus. One of the best aspects of attending George Washington University is the spectrum of styles and people who fill the campus. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to capture the trends of the GW student body.
My personal style is an amalgamation of an edgy push on classic. I firmly believe that simplicity is elegance. It’s crucial to balance patterns, textures and styles when creating a look. I love to mix chunky knit scarves with jean shirts and black basics. One of my favorite accessories is a scarf. I always try to incorporate one into my look and I’m currently in love with the many different styles available at Of A Kind. It’s the perfect finishing touch in any season, winter or spring. It’s an effortless way to elegantly tie any outfit together and keep you warm! When searching for the perfect versatile jean shirt, Madewell has a wide variety of stylish and comfortable styles. One of the main staples of my wardrobe are black basics. I always turn to Zara for chic black pieces that have unique and flattering styles, patterns and cuts.
I’m so excited to be writing for LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS. As someone who is interested in fashion, it’s only fitting to investigate the trends for men in conjunction with those for women. From pocket squares to high tops, men’s style has an extremely broad range and I’m eager to start seeking out those who value style. It will be so interesting to see how the men of GW twist and mold current trends to create their own distinct styles.
