Hello, my name is Carly Ciccotti and I have been a part of the CollegeFashionista team for the past two semesters. I have written for the LET’S HEAR IT FOR THE BOYS column, as well as ACESSORIES REPORT. Both have been so much fun and have enabled me to explore the interesting and fashionable people in the different places I have lived in throughout the last year. I am originally from Philadelphia, however, I attend The George Washington University in Washington D.C.
This semester I will be writing for WHAT TO WEAR. From heading to class to coffee or catching dinner with your friends, I will be documenting and sharing my favorite looks for any and every event on campus. As I start to get back into the collegiate mode, packing for school and making last-minute shopping trips, I find myself wondering what my fall wardrobe will consist of and what I will be wearing to class. My personal style is a combination of edgy and classic. I strongly believe that simplicity is elegance and I love pieces that will stand the test of time yet still are unique.
Fall fashion is all about the slow accumulation of layers. From heavier scarves to thicker jackets, the new school year adds on more then just a workload. One of my favorite fall pieces to mix and match with are mossy green jeans. They are quirkier then your ordinary blue jeans, yet they pair just as well with a simple gray T-shirt and a pair of camel wedges. Then you can pile a gold watch, a scarf and a pair of aviators to spice up the look and add some more color and texture. As you start to compile your fall closet, don’t be afraid to stray from the norm when you layer and play with colorful jeans and classic silhouettes.
