Accessories Report

I am so excited to be starting on my second quarter as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru! Last quarter was a blast as I explored the vast spectrum of men’s fashion here at UCLA. Although I’ll be sad to leave the boys behind, there is a very important matter of shoes, handbags, jewelry and headwear to be discussed. That leads me to the announcement that I will be moving on to blog weekly for the ACCESSORIES REPORT! Writing about the fine gentlemen of UCLA taught me a lot last quarter. I’m sure I’ll find more this quarter that know just how to accessorize their ensembles; however, this time I get to add on the realm of women’s fashion which will open a lot of doors.

UCLA is definitely a stylish campus. When I walk to class, my fellow students provide me with so much inspiration that contributes to my own style. I love that everyone puts the effort in! It’s so easy to veer towards leggings and a sweatshirt when you’re getting ready for your 9 a.m. lecture. Here at UCLA we don’t do anything sloppily, whether its in regards to our grades, our social lives or our appearances.

If I had to pick two favorite accessories, I would have to go with shoes and rings. Anyone who has read my previous posts will know that I have a soft spot for shoes and see them as the pièce de résistance of any outfit. Heels can transform a casual look to a fancy one, boots can add grunge and they can be the centerpiece of an outfit when need be. A bad shoe can ruin a tasteful get-up and I don’t want anyone to fall prey to that! I chose rings because I love how delicate or chunky they can be, how you can pile them on and how you don’t need to choose only one. You can (and I do) wear all your rings at once.

So now you know my passionate stance on shoes and rings. I think I’ll leave it there and remind you to stop by weekly to catch up on tips or gain your own inspiration on how to accessorize like a queen/king!
