STYLE GURU BIO: Carina Yabut

Hi everyone! My name is Carina Yabut and I am a rising sophomore at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. I was born and raised in Connecticut and have always loved fashion. I love to read magazines and blogs to keep up to date with the ever-changing fashion world.

Ever since I was young, I was attracted to anything bright or had rhinestones on it. My style has simplified since then, but I still like to keep a bit of sparkle in my clothes or in my accessories. School dress codes and uniforms would not stop me from putting a touch of my own style into the outfit.

I love shopping from a wide range of stores. I mix and match pieces to form a style of my own. My wardrobe consists of multiple basic pieces then many standout pieces to balance out my outfits. I like to switch up my style from day to day. I look for inspiration from magazines, fashion blogs and people I pass by on campus.

I would describe my style as girly and classic. I like to keep it simple but add a twist. To me, an outfit is never complete without accessories. I always accessorize with either a cute bracelet, a stylish bag or trendy shoes. For example, in my outfit I am wearing a patterned romper and a pair of gold sandals. I accessorize my outfit with a cute cross-body bag. The champagne colored bag complements the gold sandals and my favorite Alex and Ani bracelets. The key is to stick to one main focus, which is in this case is the patterned romper. This look is perfect for summer. Whether you are going out to lunch with friends or on vacation this is an easy and effortless look anyone can pull off.

Everyone’s look is unique and individual to them. Fashion is so diverse that you have to find what you like and fits you best, then rock it. I cannot wait to share new trends and outfit ideas with all you Fashionistas/os!
