Hello fellow Fashionistas! My name is Caitlin Andrews and I am currently a freshman at Ohio University. I am majoring in business management and strategic leadership, as well as minoring in retail merchandising and fashion product development. This is my first time writing as a Style Guru and I could not be more excited to share my thoughts on the latest fashion trends with you this semester.
Fashion has been a part of my being for as long as I can remember. Although the majority of my life was spent wearing gym shorts, athletic socks and a T-shirt (sans sleeves), I have found that regardless of the event, there is always an opportunity to express my individuality.
Expression is my favorite part of fashion. One glance at someone’s ensemble can give you a perspective on their outlook of the day. Each time I step out of the house, the outfit I am wearing is a statement of who I am for that day. I could be someone completely different each day of the week if I wanted to, and that is the beauty of it all. There is no limit to where fashion can take you and there are no boundaries saying what is and what is not acceptable for one’s wardrobe.
I am very diverse in my fashion taste and love the endless options that allow me to create a look that reflects my mood and my personality that day. There are many parts of myself that I enjoy expressing to the world, such as my heritage and my interests. There are times where I like to conform to one piece of my personality and then there are times where I like to incorporate them all together and see what the outcome is.
For my bio, I wanted to wear something a little more daring. White skinny jeans can sometimes be a bit nerve-wracking, but do not ever let your fear of spilling a colored drink on your pants stop you from rocking them. The key to wearing these white skinny jeans is pairing them with your favorite set of high heels. To complete your look, accessories are key. I decided to wear neutral colors, which pairs perfectly with my oversized sunglasses and my dreamland stretch bracelet. Last but not least, I added my all-time favorite shoulder bag to complete my look for the day, which is perfect for wherever the day may take me, whether it be a casual brunch or a late night out on the town.
I am a dreamer. I love learning about different cultures. I love the endless possibilities this world has to offer. Most of all, I cannot wait to experience the adventure of being a Style Guru with each and every one of you.
