STYLE GURU BIO: Brynn Williams

Hi fellow Fashionistas! I’m Brynn, a sophomore at Seattle Pacific University where I am studying fashion merchandising and business. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I am beyond excited to join the team.

It may be cliché but Breakfast at Tiffany’s, or any Audrey Hepburn movie for that matter, is my favorite. Olivia Palermo is my style icon, and I check many style blogs daily. I love all things striped, cheetah print or leather and rarely wear bright colors. I live in Seattle but prefer tea over coffee any day. When I am not in school I am most likely looking for the best macaroons in the city, shopping or enjoying brunch, which is the best meal of the day in my opinion.

Being born and raised in Seattle means that I value layers, a warm jacket, dark colors and preparedness for rain (I always need to have my cheetah print umbrella on hand). I am a firm believer that you can never have too many stripes, and for me, it is a staple item in my wardrobe. I love mixing classic, neutral colored pieces with a trendier item. For this look, I paired a striped sweater with timeless black skinny jeans and an asymmetrical wool jacket for a touch of warmth and glamour. I accessorized with a simple watch but added a fringe chain necklace, which helps create dimension and interest to the outfit. The oversized wool hat creates an effortlessly chic touch and the red lip adds a necessary pop of color. Finally, the brown ankle booties are a must-have in my closet. Though I am 5”10, I love a heeled boot to help elongate my legs and dress up any outfit.

I feel fortunate enough to have figured out at a young age that I wanted to pursue fashion. I have always been captivated by fashion because I see it as art and a powerful form of expression. Fashion creates a statement, it gives confidence and is unique to every individual. My campus will showcase the unique Seattle style as well as current fashion trends so that other Fashionistas, like you, can translate these looks into every day wear. Stay tuned every Friday for posts from yours truly and be sure to follow me on my social media pages for behind the scenes. Here’s to a fashionable semester!
