STYLE GURU BIO: Brittany Maniet

Hello Fashionistas! My name is Brittany Maniet and I am a sophomore majoring in journalism at Point Park University.

I have always had a passion for writing. Through journalism I have the ability to write incredible stories about the people and subjects I interview, which is something I love. While not only keeping up with my major, I am running Cross Country and Track and Field at Point Park. Learning how to transition into a long distance runner started out as a challenge but I’ve truly come to love it.

As for Fashion, well I’ve been obsessed with it since I was little. I always enjoyed getting all dressed up and creating looks for myself and others. I even for a time thought about becoming a Fashion Designer or Stylist. I had many sketch books filled with designs that I would think up or create after looking through a magazine or watching a fashion related show. However, I think that ultimately now becoming a fashion journalist is truly what I want to do. Being able to work for magazines and getting to tell peoples stories about their companies and fashion as well as all the latest trends and styles sounds amazing. Through CollegeFashionista I will be able to do just this. I can show people my own style along with other Fashionista/o’s out there.

If I had to put describe my style in three words I would say that it is a mixture of preppy, boho and relaxed. I really enjoy mixing patterns with simpler looks to give them a more unique vibe. I love shopping at stores like J.Crew, Free People, Urban Outfitters and Banana Republic. Many of my go-to outfits involve a signature piece like a chambray shirt, necklace or unique shoe, too, and then I add simpler elements or things I feel that work the best with it.

I hope that during my time here at CollegeFashionista I am able to provide some of my own style tips with you all and share styles I find around the city of Pittsburgh on my campus. I’m looking forward to this journey here and I hope you all come back to read some more!
